Lawdy…this has been a heapin’ mess-a-goodness.  For one ticket, I can see Silverton, 607, The Moving Front, Kyoto Boom, Epiphany & One Night Stand, Chris Denny & The Old Soles, Kevin Kerby & Battery…and somehow miss Greg Spradlin Outfit, Smoke Up Johnny, and Ted Ludwig just in the name of sheer logistics.   I haven’t hit any of the big acts yet, but I felt the presence of Huey Lewis.

Kudos to Riverfest folks for putting a big ole focus on local music this year.  I’ll post some good pics later on.

ZZ Top and Fireworks later–hoo-ahh!!

TMF Goes 21st Century Sinead on Daybreak May 23, 2008

The Moving Front was on KATV’s Daybreak show this morning, live from the Riverfest setup, from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.  Yep, the sun rose during a TMF performance.  Very odd watching the fellers rock it out in between the weather forecast and a segment on kids decorating flip-flops, but they managed to get it done.

CheckOneTwo was on the scene whilst you were sleeping.  Those of us who made it out early (er, “both” of us) were treated to pre-dawn versions of “The Equalizer,” “South Side,” “Could be Worse,” “ATTN:  Do Not Duplicate,” and “The Lottery.”

My favorite moment:  when lead singer Jeremy Brasher whipped out a KBR  (Halliburton) logo and tore it up for the camera, Sinead O’Connor style.  My second favorite part:  when the newsies exchanged puzzled looks, shrugged, and kept dancing.

More pics from the early set:

For those of you who stayed in bed until a reasonable hour:  catch TMF tonight at Riverfest, 9:30 p.m., in the Arkansas Music Tent.

Hope to see you out,

Glen

Sweet Fancy Moses!  Riverfest is almost upon us, and it’s time to get all logistical-like.  Lots of great bands, plenty of stages, and some decisions must be made.

The full Riverfest music schedule is available right cheer.  As a public service, CheckOneTwo has sifted through the schedule and humbly offers this handy guide as a resource for the discerning Riverfest attendee.  Click the hot links for more information about each of the bands.
