Hayes Carll tonight at Whitewater Tavern.  Yes, that Hayes Carll.   The one with the same initials as Hendrix College (our common alma mater).  The one who reinjected some serious excitement into the Americana scene a few years ago with his album Flowers and Liquor and the follow up, Little Rock.   That guy who was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2005 American Music Awards. 

It’s a little pricier than your normal Whitewater show, but I suspect it’s going to be worth it for a sort of homecoming.   Support from Corb Lund and the Hurtin’ Albertans (my early pick for band name of the year).   Straight outta Alberta, Canada, these guys are touring in support of their Horse Soldier!  Horse Soldier! album.
